1. Kybella Treatment Is Expensive
Treatment is different for every patient, depending on the amount of submental fullness you’re looking to lose. If you have more fat beneath the chin, expect to receive more injections. Kybella is the more cost-effective option compared to traditional surgery!
2. You Need Many Injections To See Results
Our patients typically need between one and three treatments to achieve their desired result. As mentioned, more chin fat will require more injections. If you need more than one treatment, we will space your sessions one to two months apart.
3. Kybella Injections Hurt
Each patient will have his or her own pain threshold, but Kybella injections are no more than a mild burning sensation. The area will be numbed prior to the procedure to reduce discomfort.
4. The Kybella Solution Is Unsafe
The Kybella injectable is comprised of a naturally-occurring substance found in the human gallbladder called deoxycholic acid.
5. Kybella Has No Side Effects
Following your treatment, you can expect these mild symptoms in the treated area:
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Numbness
- Redness
- Pain or hardness at injection site
Any difficulty swallowing or nerve injury to the jaw area is an irregular reaction to Kybella. In these rare instances, the patient should seek medical attention right away.

7. My Double Chin Will Return
