History of the Vein Centers of Connecticut
For over 50 years, conventional vein stripping treatments resulted in pain, scarring, and long recovery times. Dr. Alfred Gladstone, a board certified Interventional Radiologist, had been following the progress of new minimally invasive, quick recovery procedures for the treatment of Vein Disease. As an opportunity to educate and serve the community of Central Connecticut, we began providing these new vein therapy techniques in an office setting, opening our practice in New Britain in 2004.
From the beginning, Dr. Gladstone and New Britain Radiological Associates were accredited by the American College of Radiology. This accreditation and affiliations with the American Vein and Lymphatic Society and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine help us to advance our competencies and to implement the latest medical technologies to assess vein disease and to determine the best combination of treatments for each patient.
Dr. Wanda Kirejczyk, board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and on staff at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, joined Dr. Gladstone in New Britain in 2007. We added an office in Madison in 2008 and in Wallingford in 2017. We now offer Radiofrequency ablation, VenaSeal closure and Laser ablation in addition to sclerotherapy for weak, diseased veins. In response to requests from our vein therapy patients, in 2007, we began offering aesthetic services including spider sclerotherapy, laser hair removal, chemical peels, and Microdermabrasion. In 2008, we added injectables (Botox, Juvederm, Kybella) and restorative skin care to our aesthetics, giving us a full complement of services to help you Look your Best and Feel your Best!
New Britain Radiological Associates was acquired by Midstate Radiology Associates, LLC in 2017. Dr. James Choi joined our team of interventional radiologists working at the Vein Centers of CT. Our staff now includes four board certified radiologists, including Dr. Jeffrey Takahashi, who leads an expanded team of certified physician assistants (PA-C), nurse practitioners (APRN), and vascular certified ultrasonographers (RVT) whose mission is to provide the highest quality care, safety, comfort, and results for our patients.
