What Is Sclerotherapy?
Non-invasive sclerotherapy injections eliminate superficial spider veins. A mild chemical solution is injected into the vein that irritates the vein wall and collapses the affected vein, which gets absorbed by the body.
The procedure is virtually painless. After-care instructions include wearing compression stockings for 5 days post-procedure, low impact exercise for 1 week, avoiding hot baths for 1 week and sun exposure should be limited for three weeks after injections.
Who Should Be Treated?
Our providers will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms to determine if sclerotherapy is the right procedure for your vein condition.
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, experienced a recent major health event or expect sun exposure soon after the procedure are not good candidates for sclerotherapy.
