History of the Vein Centers of Connecticut
For over 50 years, conventional vein stripping treatments resulted in pain, scarring, long recovery times and frequent recurrence of varicose veins. Dr. Alfred Gladstone, a board-certified Interventional Radiologist who closely followed advancements in minimally invasive, quick-recovery procedures for vein disease, established a varicose vein treatment center in New Britain in 2004.
With the establishment of Vein Centers of CT came the opportunity to educate and serve the community of central Connecticut. Accreditation by the American College of Radiology and affiliations with the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, as well as the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, served to advance our competencies. With a well-trained medical team, and the latest medical technologies to assess vein disease, state-of- the-art treatment options were now available to our patients.
Soon the vein center expanded and, in 2007, Dr. Wanda Kirejczyk, board certified in Diagnostic Radiology, joined Dr. Gladstone. With an ever-growing team, the Vein Centers of CT also welcomed two additional physicians, Dr. Jeffrey Takahashi and Dr. Dylan Assael, both board-certified in Interventional Radiology, as well as our mid-level team, Ashley Stevens, APRN, FNP-BC and Katelyn Palladino, PA-C.
Together this dedicated, passionate team offers treatments including endovenous radiofrequency ablation, ambulatory phlebectomy and sclerotherapy for diseased veins. In response to patients’ requests, we began offering aesthetic services in 2007, including laser hair removal, laser skin tightening, treatment of skin hyperpigmentation and chemical peels. Soon after, injectables including Botox, Juvéderm and Kybella were added to our services with restorative skincare products available to maintain the patient’s refreshed appearance. Always striving to be at the forefront of treatment, we have added an IPL machine to our arsenal, now treating sun spots, rosacea, acne and other skin issues. We are committed to supporting our patients in their quest to look better and feel better!
In 2017, new opportunities arose and New Britain Radiological Associates merged with Midstate Radiology Associates, LLC. This partnership provided a powerhouse of medical talent and services. Our offices expanded with locations in Bristol and Wallingford, supporting our mission to provide the community with the most up to date diagnostic and medical interventions in both vein and aesthetic care.
